Ozge draws an in-depthly historical and materially sensitive approach to Architecture. She talks about design as an opportunity for a thorough historical research leading onto exquisite interventions that would transport one’s memories and senses.

Ozge Ertoptamis

Born near Istanbul, Ozge Ertoptamis grew up in this ancient cosmopolitan city of many layers. Ozge carried out her architectural studies at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, where she looked at the notions of memory, space and time through her own methodology. After graduating she pursued her education at METU Industrial Design between 2003-2007.

In 2021, after working for 17 years in Istanbul and in New York collaborating with EAA, Ozge founded Atelier Rouje. She now lives and designs in New York / Miami / Istanbul.

How does a designer interact with clients, institutions and their processes, and other collaborators, or even colleagues within the same firm?

Ozge promoted the architectural accomplishments of the studio by arranging high level meetings with other world renowned architects such as: Yehuda Safran, during Archtober, Theoharis David of NYCx Design and Ben Derbyshire (RIBA-Royal Institute of British Architects President).
