Golkoy Residences

Located on the edge of a cliff in Bodrum, 38 houses ranging from 1,937 to 3,767 sf are planned to be built sharing a common typology. This complex constitutes an unusual design laboratory on how to create “indoor exteriors” and reconcile intimacy with vastness.

The buildings merge completely with the topography, settling on different levels where the ground floor becomes fragmented into planes of indoor/outdoor terraces and living spaces. From the sea, the houses define platforms as extruded volumes emerging from the cliff. From the top, they seem to be excavated on the hill. Finished in basalt stone and wood for the trellis, the houses are a part of the nature. Ozge led Eaa design team.

Each villa merges into the natural surroundings with its cascading terraces and canopies .

The interior footprint almost doubles with the addition of the outdoor terraces where each level serves a different purpose — a sunbathing area, a dining terrace, a wine terrace and alike.
